Who is Grandma
Welcome to Grandma's Column. Sharon Cannon, a loving mother of three and a proud grandmother of two is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to raising and caring for children. Whether that means tips on late night trips to the emergency room or how to support and encourage your children's dreams and goals. As well as simple things like rainy day games or what foods they'll actually eat, Grandma Sharon has experienced it all. And each month this grandma will pass on her knowledge and answer questions asked by Little Ones on Fitzroy parents-to-be. Regardless if it is your first or third child it never hurts to gain a few hints. Keep an eye out each month when Grandma answers your question. Grandma's Column See what advice Grandma gives this month! Question - April 2008 I'm having trouble settling my baby at night. Are there any tricks for settling a baby? - Denise, Junction Hill Reply To ensure a baby is settled ready for a good sleep you should make sure the baby has fed well, has had a nappy change, and is wrapped securely in a cotton rug. You should cuddle your baby and talk to it as it knows you even at an early age. Open a window a little so that there is good ventilation in the room. Don’t wake your baby at the fourth hour to feed it. The baby will wake when it is hungry. Remember, a sleeping baby is a happy and thriving baby. Nursery Have you visited our Nursery Gallery?
